Marvellous Motifs

The past two weeks, Year 5 have been exploring the work of William Morris. We have had a great time observing the different plants in our school grounds and creating motifs inspired by these. We are looking forward to turning these into prints in the coming weeks!

Through our google classroom we have been learning all about chocolate,  we even wrote our own chocolate poems... Take a look at Marty's! Mmmm chocolate! By Marty Worsnop I see you sitting there, On the cupboard shelf. Inviting and glistening glare, I grab you from the shelf. One bite, two bite, three bite, four, Mmm chocolate I want more. Its caramel it creamy, Mmm chocolate you're dreamy! I have eaten half the bar, What a greedy pig I am. I can't stop eating its bizarre, Chocolate in my mouth I cram. One bite, two bite, three bite, four, Mmm chocolate I've got no more. Maybe mum will go to the shop, Mmm chocolate I ate the lot!!

This week in science we have been investigating thermal insulation. This was our investigation prompt... What do you think? Theo used a wrapped ice cube to help him to investigate this. He thought that the snowman in a coat would melt fastest because coats are meant to keep us warm.  He predicted that an ice cube that was wrapped up would take a shorter time to melt than an unwrapped one.  Take a look at Theo's findings...
