We've been enjoying writing our own spooky stories and are working as a team to edit and improve them so that they're even better!

We have been using bar modelling to support us when we're faced with tricky multistep addition and subtraction problems  

In English, we have been using Google as a secondary source to research whether the Victorian workhouse was fair or unfair. Next week, we will be using our research to write a balanced arguement. We also can't wait to take part in a verbal debate activity! Get Outlook for iOS

We're exploring life in Victorian Leeds... Can you see any similarities or differences between Victorian style schooling and that of today? We decided that we'd like to try out a day in a Victorian classroom, but would probably prefer to stick to our own era more long term!

We are going to be exploring problem solving linked to all of our topics in Maths this year. We will be using Goal Free Problems to help us. What can you work out from the image? How many different things can you deduce? Hint....What might the number mean? With a goal free problem there is no single right answer!
