This week we are looking at the suffix 'ing' Our spellings are,  running exploring dropping trying relying sliding whining widening varying skipping Can you investigate the rules of adding this suffix to the root word?

This week, we have been exploring different settings. On Monday, our setting was beautiful, but by Thursday it had all changed...  We used our experiences to write our own setting descriptions using   fronted adverbials, expanded noun phrases and prepositions. In addition, to making comparisons with the setting in our class book, Stig of the Dump.

We have become hunter-gatherers this week. Outside, we gathered twigs suitable for our fire. Then we ignited our wood with our own questions about the Stone Age creating a question fueled fire!  What interesting facts can you find out about the Stone Age?

Pentominoes Investigation

This week, we have been investigating pentonimoes. A pentomino is a shape created from 5 equal-sided squares connected edge to edge. Our challenge was to find out how many different possibilities there were!
